It's Official!

It's official! We are having twins!!! We started telling family over the 4th of July weekend with these baby shirts. They say "Born in the USA." Our due date is January 27, 2009, but we have been told to expect them around the end of December. We are thrilled and feel so blessed (times TWO!) These babies are answers to a lot of prayer!

We found out that we were pregnant on May 21st. On June 5th, we had our first ultrasound which confirmed that we are having twins!

12 week ultrasound (3D). We were able to hear both heartbeats. Each heart rate was 171. We won't know the sexes until September.

(sorry for all the "gaps" between pics....that's how they scanned!)

Baby A - check out my brain!

Baby B - all cozy!

Our YouTube debut!

Below is a link to our "youtube" debut. But you have to look quick to see us both as it is a "preview" of the full-feature a friend's brother made. Seth is very creative!

June

Oh my goodness. I can't believe how quickly June came and went! Here are some highlights:

My dad took my sister and I to see the synchronous fireflies in the Smokies. I had never seen so many fireflies! It was like watching thousands of Christmas lights blinking in the forest. Beautiful!

For Father's Day, we had Andrew's dad over for lunch. Then, my dad and siblings came over after the evening church service for banana splits and Wii bowling!

Speaking of Wii bowling, look who bowled a 300...several times!

One Friday night, we had a bonfire in our backyard. My sister Laura came over and we made s'mores. It was a huge fire as you can see!

Laura and Andrew did great taking care of the fire!

I also spent one morning at the zoo with my mom and sis. We had a fun time getting to see most of the animals. They also had a butterfly garden set up which was pretty neat.

Our 5th Anniversary!

On Saturday, May 17th, we celebrated our 5th anniversary. We went to an afternoon showing of the new Chronicles of Narnia movie "Prince Caspian." (Great movie!!!) We decided to go to the new movie theater downtown. It is a very nice theater. Very clean and comfortable seats that rock....literally!

After the movie we went to a nearby park to take a picture. We had really nice weather that day. We walked through Market Square and walked on to a local seafood restaurant called Chesapeake's.

Dinner at Chesapeake's was very delicious. Andrew got the grilled tuna. I had filet mignon. After dinner, we went home and watched our wedding dvd. It had been at 4 years since we had watched it. It was neat seeing the video and everyone that was there. While we haven't changed a bit, several of you have! :-)

Our anniversary was great. I am so blessed to have Andrew as not only my husband, but also my best friend. Here's to many more wonderful years!

Mother's Day weekend

Saturday (5/10/08) - We had Andrew's 12th grade guys over for their "end of the year" party. It was a good time. They are a great group of guys and we have enjoyed getting to know them. Of course the evening included SEVERAL games of Delmuti.

Sunday (5/11/08) - We had our moms (and my brother and sis) over for a Mother's Day lunch after church.

Our moms :-)

It's been a while

It's been a while since I last posted a blog. Work has definitely picked up to a rapid pace as the school year is drawing to a close. My last few weeks are going to be filled with meetings, testing kiddos, meetings, copying summer packets for several kids, meetings, and the usual "end of the year" things...oh, did I mention meetings? :-) But, it will go fast and then summer will be here! Andrew and I are looking forward to the summer. Nothing big planned, but we will hopefully be able to visit family, go to the lake, hike, and just enjoy being outdoors.

(fyi - it's hard to type a blog while watching "Wild Hogs"...great movie!)

Hmmm...so what else is new with us? Recently we've had several of Andrew's 12th grade guys over for game night. It's been a lot of fun. We mainly play the card game "delmuti" but have also played Pictionary and Sequence. Andrew is at our church's men's retreat this weekend. Tomorrow night we are having some of his family over to celebrate his dad's birthday.
I go to a weekly bible study at church with several ladies who teach sunday school in the children's department. We are going through the book Lord, I Want to Know You by Kay Arthur. It examines various names of God. It's been pretty interesting learning about each name as we learn more about Christ. I'm also reading Anne Graham Lotz's book Why?. It's pretty good too!

Well I guess that's about it for now. I've tested 5 kids this week and all are going to qualify for speech language services. So, I'm going to spend tonight getting all their paperwork done for the upcoming meetings. Have a great weekend!
